基于课程标准基本理念的考试、基于课程总目标的考试及基于课程标准课程内容的考试是基于课程标准考试的基本形式。任何具有不同功能的基于标准的考试均由这三种考试构成。实践中，基于标准的考试既可用于鉴定课堂教学的效果、区分学科学业水平的高低，也可用于区分考生满足选拔性考试的需要。
