Abstract Expert teachers lead the novice teachers is an effective way to promote the professional development of teachers,therefore seeking the difference between the two types of teachers plays a guiding role for the growth of novice teachers. This article simultaneously uses the homemade coding system and the TIMMS classroom conversations coding classification to analyze four teachers’ classroom video,and seek the similarities and difference between the two types in teaching behavior,the involvement of students in the classroom,the frequency and quality of teacher-student interaction and the teachers’ concerns in classroom,to provide support and advices for novice teachers in classroom teaching improvement.
